8 Month Update

Hi Again!
Look who is sitting up like a big boy all by himself now!

What a fun and busy month July was for us!  We are enjoying our summer together!  Of course, it is going by way too fast.  I'm so sad summer is almost over.  We've had so much fun!  Jackson is now 8 months old and seems to be learning and doing something new everyday.  He is such a happy baby!  Our hearts are so full with this lovable little buddy.

Here are Jackson's weekly snapshots:
Little Bubba at 31 Weeks.
32 Weeks old today, which happened to be on the 4th of July, too!
33 weeks!  Gotta love a man in his overalls!
And those blue eyes, oooh-don't they just melt your heart?!!
34 weeks!  First time in a big boy swing outside Aunt Kate's house!
He LOVED it!

Jackson enjoyed visiting Papa at work one day.  No cavities yet, but this boy is definitely teething.  Jackson is constantly drooling!  We go through lots of bibs every day.  I keep thinking a tooth will pop through those sore gums, but no teeth yet...

Jackson celebrated his first Fourth of July!
He proudly waved his American Flag!

The week of the Fourth of July Jackson began sitting up on his own!  He wants to sit up all the time now.  Such a big boy-and doesn't he look proud of himself?!  Thank you Aunt Linda for the AMAZING quilt you made for Jackson!  You are so talented.  We LOVE it!

One of Jackson's favorite things is still the water.  He loves going swimming and taking baths!  He is such a little fish and loves to splash!  He is seriously too cute!  I just can't get enough of him!

Jackson loves playing with his toys (as long as you are right there playing with him!).  He has recently showed some separation anxiety with me.  If I leave the room he starts to whimper, even if I'm just going to the kitchen from the living room!!  He is really into toys with tags, haha!  No matter the size, shape, or color of toy we give him, Jackson goes right for the tag.

Jackson also rolled from back to tummy this month.  YAY!  Now he can roll all over the place.  I think Mommy and Daddy are going to have their hands full with this curious little mover!  Everything he grabs, he puts into his mouth!  Another favorite thing Jackson does is grab faces.  To put him to sleep he caresses Mommy's face or Daddy's beard.  He also pats everything.  He pats his legs, pats his toys, pats tabletops, pats books, pats his stuffed animals.  Jackson's favorite books now are the ones with different textures on the pages, so he can pat them.  His favorite books this month are Beep!  Beep!  Peekaboo!  and Counting Petting Farm Sounds.
Rocking that tummy time, baby Jax!

One of Jackson's new favorite things is to grab faces!
He also grabs my face and gives me kisses now!

Above all toys, swimming, taking baths, and books, Jackson's all time favorite thing is....FOOD!  This boy LOVES to eat!  He started signing "milk" to us.  Okay, well we aren't sure if he actually is purposefully signing milk to us, or he just discovered he could do that with his hands, but he signs it over and over again!  We are still teaching him sign language(we've introduced the signs for sleep and hear this month)-he really likes it when we sign "food" to him.  He starts to wiggle and gets really excited.  He LOVES his milk and his veggies and now FRUIT!  New veggies and fruits we have tried this month are:  sweet potatoes, squash, avocado, bananas, and pears.  He loves it all.  He is such a good eater and wants more and more.  I make his food using the Baby Brezza food maker!  It is amazing.  You set a timer, and it steams and blends the food.  Then I put the food in ice cubes to freeze-perfect for serving sizes.  I had a couple friends recommend it.  It is super easy.

Jax had a doctors appointment at the end of the month and weighed 19 pounds (fully dressed).  My baby is growing so fast!  He is in size 3 diapers and is wearing 6-9 month clothing.  He eats 5-6 ounces of milk (depending if he has cereal/food) every 3-3 1/2 hours.  I nurse him first thing in the morning and right before bedtime.  We are still blessed with an outstanding night-time sleeper.  Jackson sleeps from about 8:30 PM-7:30 AM in his big boy crib.  Very seldom does he wake up in the middle of the night.  He's not much of a napper during the day-short little 30 minute power naps....unless his Mommy takes a nap with him, then it can easily turn into an hour nap...or maybe a two hour nap!  Hey, it is summer time, and I am taking advantage of MY napping, too!

Also this month my best friends from high school and I got together with our babies!  It was so much fun catching up with Shannon and Andrea and play with all the kiddos.  Shannon and her family live out of state, so it had been a long time since all of us were together.

Haha, how cute!!

Jackson had more fun with his lady friends at Andrea's house and the Ross' house!  Thanks for all the yummy food and fun, Bert and Bobbie and Andrea and Ben!  Thanks for traveling Shannon and Kyle.
Hope to see you all again soon!

Speaking of lady friends...Jackson met up with his OTHER girlfriends, Sloaney and Quinny again this summer!  My, he has lots of girlfriends-one lucky fella'!  I think Jax needs some guys to play with, too...but all my friends who have babies keep having girls!!!

3 teething buddies!

This summer we made a special trip to Uncle Wes and Aunt Kate's house.  It was an 8 hour drive, but Jackson did amazingly well!  We had such a fun time!!  Then a few days later they came to visit us again!!
